Submission to God's Calling
The word says in Romans 8:28; And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. My testimony is how God can use any situation or circumstance for the betterment of the purpose that he called us to save lost souls and spread the gospel through the power of our testimony and the blood of the lamb.
I recently got saved when I was 17 years old, and I was still attending school at this time. My life and relationship with Christ started, sharing the gospel was something that I had longed for and had a passion for doing. During this journey with Christ, I found myself in situations and trials that I never knew any good person would have dreamed of being in. In this particular situation, I found myself faced with rejection, and not knowing how to cope with it led from one thing to another, leading to depression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. At this point in my life, I asked God, "Why me?" not knowing that everything I was going through was going to be used later on for the purpose that he had called me to.
Within that week, I got delivered from that situation through God, and with that, it became my testimony as well as my revelation to help anyone that would have been going through something similar to what I had been through. Ironically, a week after I was led to minister to someone in my institution who was going through a similar situation but much worse, from that day forward, I never went a day without encountering this person until I could lead them to the one who delivered me, Jesus Christ. Everything that I went through was really a pain for a purpose, and that purpose, no matter the cost, was to evangelize and save those who have been lost, chained, oppressed, and broken by the enemy. The person that I met and the person she is now after being saved through Christ are two different people; she is now saved, speaks in tongues, and has an intimate relationship with God. What an honor it was to be used by God!
Remember one thing from this testimony: there will be times when we are put through processes that will make us great, but never despise them; don't give up; you may be brought to the same point as I was, asking God “why me?”, but God answered why not you; I gave you this because I know you are capable of fulfilling and overcoming this trial to gain the authority and ability to do what you will be tasked with doing later on in your journey. God knows the end before the beginning; in all things, give thanks, because your trial could be the answer to another man's prayer. This describes our Christian walk (Ecclesiasticus 11:14, "Prosperity and adversity, life and death, poverty and riches, come of the Lord"); and Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." So, to summarize my testimony, God trusts us to be able to go through our trials and situations for the greater good for the purpose for which he has called us, and all we have to do is know that this is true and be willing to go the extra mile to trust God for the greater good. God's Touch
Hi, my name is Tenique Beckles and I am 26 years of age and a full-time Minister at Heavenly Lights Ministry. I started ministry when I was 18 years old and this was something that I never planned because I was into carnival soca and chutney singing then becoming the Junior Monarch and was drifting away from my own desires and into the world. As a child growing up I was always in church, but I had much unbelief and anger in my heart, until that day God touched me.
That was the beginning of a transformation in my life, but first I had to be tricked by my one and only stepmom. What was supposed to be a mall visit turned into a church visit at Heavenly Lights Ministry. That day I experienced God's grace, love, and forgiveness in my life through prayer I fell in love with Jesus. I realized that this love story became more real, coming to find out as time passed how real he is and how much God knew me personally. I just wanted to give everything to him. I no longer wanted to live a selfish life to please people or the world, but I wanted to live a life that was selfless to please God and to be able to assist people.
Everything changed, I was no longer a participant in Carnival activities, and even though I was persecuted, God's grace helped me to hold on to Him. I can now testify that 9 years have passed since then, and I am still a young full-time minister, God's grace has made provisions for me, through his love and blessing to me. God's grace is sufficient and we should never give up on him in spite of how much mistreatment we may get from our loved ones even when they had forsaking us, his grace will enable me to grow and become what he wants me to be, God never took back his gift of music away from me, instead, I got many more opportunities in writing songs and ministering to people.
